Bridge Fell Out FAQs

Is a fallen-out bridge always an emergency?

While not life-threatening, it’s important to seek dental care quickly to protect the supporting teeth and maintain a proper bite. Typically, we will schedule a same-day or next-day appointment.

Can I glue my bridge back in myself?

No. We don’t recommend this. Super glue or other household adhesives can cause serious harm to your teeth and gums. If the bridge still fits, you may gently set it in place until your visit.

Can my existing bridge be reused?

In many cases, yes. If the bridge and supporting teeth are stable, we will attempt to clean the bridge and recement it in place. If there is evidence of decay, damage, or the bridge doesn’t fit correctly, a repair or replacement may be needed.

Why would a bridge come loose?

Common reasons a bridge may come loose include weakened cement, decay under the bridge, bite or alignment changes, teeth grinding, or dental trauma. We will determine the cause and discuss prevention steps.

What should I eat until my bridge is repaired?

Stick to soft foods and avoid sticky or crunchy foods that cause stress to the exposed teeth. Chewing food on the opposite side of the affected area is recommended as well.

Will insurance cover bridge repair or replacement?

Many insurance plans cover recementing the existing bridge. Coverage for a replacement bridge varies by policy. We will review your benefits and provide a cost estimate before treatment.

I have been there twice now and truthfully a wonderful experience both times. The staff is very kind and informative. They are quick with insurance quotes. I find the pricing fair. The doctor I’ve seen both times is great! He tells me everything that is going on, what he’s doing, and always checks to make sure I’m not feeling discomfort or pain. I’m looking forward to my visit in April 🙂
